Gold Fin Coating

Gold Fin coating is a specialized anti-corrosive treatment applied to the aluminum fins of an ACIq outdoor condenser. This epoxy-based layer is specifically designed to protect the coil from salt air, rain, and other corrosive environmental elements that cause Galvanic Corrosion. By preventing the oxidation of the metal fins, Gold Fin technology ensures that the heat transfer remains efficient for many years, even in coastal regions. It also helps the coil shed water faster after a Defrost Cycle, preventing ice buildup in the winter. This feature is standard on many of our high-end Ductless Mini Splits to improve their long-term durability. While it adds a slight gold tint to the coil, its primary benefit is the extended lifespan of the equipment in harsh climates. Investing in a unit with Gold Fin or "Blue Fin" coating is a smart move for any homeowner living within 20 miles of the ocean. It represents a significant upgrade over standard, untreated aluminum coils.
