Evacuation

Evacuation is the process of using a Vacuum Pump to remove all air and moisture from a refrigeration system before it is charged with refrigerant. This is one of the most critical steps in any Ductless Mini Splits or split system installation. If even a tiny amount of moisture remains, it can freeze and clog the Expansion Valve or react with the oil to create damaging acids. A proper evacuation should reach a "micron level" of 500 or lower to ensure the system is completely dehydrated and leak-free. This process protects the heart of your ACIq or MrCool system from premature mechanical failure. You can find professional-grade vacuum pumps and Digital Manifold gauges in our store to ensure this job is done right. Skipping this step or rushing it is the #1 cause of "mystery" system failures within the first year of operation. It is the only way to guarantee the long-term purity and efficiency of your refrigeration circuit.
