Enthalpy Sensor
An enthalpy sensor measures both the temperature and the humidity of the air to determine its total heat content, which is a much more accurate measurement than temperature alone. This is particularly useful for Economizer Cycle systems to decide if the outdoor air is truly "better" for cooling than the indoor air. If the outside air is 70°F but has 90% humidity, an enthalpy sensor will tell the system not to pull it in, whereas a standard thermostat might. This advanced sensing technology is common in Commercial HVAC and high-end ACIq residential systems. By accounting for the energy needed to remove moisture, the enthalpy sensor ensures the lowest possible energy bills. You can find these precision sensors in our Accessories-Kits section for system upgrades. They are the key to truly intelligent climate control in humid coastal regions. Using enthalpy-based logic is the most advanced way to manage indoor comfort and efficiency.
