Electric Heat Strip

An electric heat strip is a resistive heating element installed inside an air handler to provide supplemental or "emergency" heat. These strips are often used in Heat Pump Condensers systems to help maintain indoor temperatures when the outside air is too cold for the heat pump to operate efficiently. They are also commonly found in Mobile Home Air Handler units in all-electric homes. You can choose different kilowatt (kW) ratings for these strips based on the size of your home and your local climate. While they provide 100% efficient heat, they are more expensive to run than a Mobile Home Gas Furnaces. We carry a wide selection of heater kits in our Accessories-Kits section to match your specific unit. These strips provide instant warmth and are a critical backup to ensure you never lose heat during a winter storm. They are an essential add-on for most split-system installations in northern climates.
