Drip Tray (Auxiliary)

An auxiliary drip tray is a secondary safety pan placed underneath an indoor air handler or evaporator coil, specifically for units installed in attics or upper floors. Its job is to catch any water that might overflow from the Condensate Drain Pan due to a clog or a cracked primary pan. This tray is your last line of defense against water leaking through your ceiling and causing thousands of dollars in property damage. Most professional installers also add a "float switch" to this tray, which will shut off your ACIq system if water is detected. You can find these durable plastic or metal trays in our Accessories-Kits collection. For Mobile Home Air Handler units, this extra layer of protection is highly recommended if the unit is located inside a closet. It provides peace of mind, especially when you are away from home during the hot summer months. It is an inexpensive insurance policy for any indoor cooling installation.
