Downflow Furnace
A downflow furnace is a heating unit designed to pull air from the top and blow it out through the bottom into ductwork located in the floor. This configuration is the industry standard for Mobile Home Furnaces because most manufactured homes have their ducts located in the crawlspace. In a downflow setup, the Heat Exchanger is located at the bottom of the unit, requiring a powerful blower to push the heated air downward. Our ACIq downflow models are engineered for zero-clearance installations in tight closets or alcoves. It is critical to ensure that a downflow unit is placed on a proper base to prevent heat from damaging the floor. If you are replacing a furnace in a traditional home with attic ducts, you would need an Upflow Configuration instead. Choosing the correct orientation is the first step in ensuring your Mobile Home Complete System functions correctly. It represents a specialized design tailored for modern mobile home architecture.
