Delta T

Delta T, or temperature split, is the difference in temperature between the air entering the return vent and the air exiting the supply register. In a properly functioning cooling system, the Delta T should typically fall between 15 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit. If the split is too low, it may indicate a dirty Evaporator Coil or a low refrigerant charge that needs immediate attention. Conversely, a Delta T that is too high could mean that the airflow through your Ducted system is restricted, possibly by a clogged filter. Technicians use this measurement as a quick "pulse check" for the health of Mobile Home AC Condensers. Understanding your system's Delta T can help you identify performance issues before they lead to a complete breakdown. Our ACIq units are engineered to maintain a precise temperature split for maximum indoor comfort. It is the most fundamental measurement used to verify that an HVAC system is actually "doing its job" correctly.
