Brazing
Brazing is a metal-joining process used by HVAC technicians to connect copper refrigerant lines using a high-temperature torch and a filler metal. Unlike soldering, brazing occurs at temperatures above 840°F, creating a much stronger and more durable joint that can withstand the high pressures of modern refrigerants. This is the standard method for connecting a Line Set to an Evaporator Coil or an outdoor condenser. When brazing, it is critical to flow nitrogen through the lines to prevent internal oxidation, which can clog the system’s tiny orifices. Professional-grade brazing ensures that your ACIq system remains leak-free for its entire operational lifespan. A poorly brazed joint is the most common cause of refrigerant leaks, which can lead to expensive repairs and environmental damage. Our Parts collection includes the specialized fittings and rods needed for a successful, leak-proof installation.
