Blower Housing

The blower housing, often called a "scroll" or "volute," is the protective metal or plastic casing that surrounds the blower wheel and motor. Its shape is scientifically designed to accelerate the air and direct it into the main supply plenum of your Ducted system. Without the housing, the fan would simply spin the air around in circles rather than creating the pressure needed to move it through the vents. Most Mobile Home Air Handler units use a galvanized steel housing to resist rust and dampen vibrational noise. If the housing becomes loose or bent, it can cause loud rattling or whistling sounds that resonate throughout the home. In our Motors-Fans collection, we provide replacement components for damaged or corroded assemblies. Keeping the interior of the housing clean is vital for maintaining the balance of the fan wheel and ensuring maximum airflow efficiency.
